🔴 A New Song
written by: Torrie Slaughter
God is the joy and the strength of my life! Is He your’s? I cannot believe we are at the end of another year, and I am so grateful to celebrate with you. As we give praise and glory to God for all, He is doing, let us sit still for a few moments.
God remains faithful, trustworthy, kind, and merciful. How can we magnify His glorious works moving forward? And isn’t it a marvelous thing that we can lean on the Lord and receive renewed strength to endure these evil days? All the while, we can remain hopefully expectant of Christ’s return.
New Year, New You?
If you like to make resolutions, I hope you will include more of Jesus. Make Him your new song and sing His praises no matter the circumstance. It isn’t enough to hear the Holy Word but to be doers. So for these last few hours of 2021, prepare to allow the Holy Spirit more influence over your life.
Obediently following the Holy Spirit’s guidance places us within God’s Will. It will seem like a coincidence when certain things suddenly come together. However, scripture tells us, “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
As Christ-followers, the wisdom to follow God brings us joy, unspeakable joy, a living hope. The Holy Spirit empowers believers to break free from sin and the body’s limitations. The desire to think on things eternal and recognize the spiritual implications of rebelling against God. That forces us to ask: Am I singing to God or idols.
Prayer: Lord, please help us to renew our minds and seek you in every way. Father, we desire to be more like you and follow your command to love. Amen
