🔴 Trust God

written by: Torrie Slaughter

When our oldest son graduated from high school, I told him not to let anyone distract him from his dreams. I followed that by saying I would let him down in some way because I’m human.

It wasn’t easy to be transparent, especially in front of an audience during his celebration. Yet, it was necessary.

In Psalm 146:4, the psalmist reminds us of our limitations and that we should only trust God. Of course, that does not mean we shouldn’t accept assistance, love, or be vulnerable. God made us to be relational and cooperate with Him. If we walk faithfully by His command, we will successfully navigate life in this fallen world.

Yes, we will disappoint a loved one or friend; however, I pray we all dare to admit our limitations. When we want to play the role of ‘savior’, let us quickly humble ourselves and praise the Savior who reigns on High.

Prayer: Father, we praise your mighty Name. Please help us to focus on you and lead by your example. Amen.
