Guiding Scripture: Zechariah 8:16-17, ‘These are the things you are to do: Speak the truth to each other, and render true and sound judgment in your courts; 17 do not plot evil against each other, and do not love to swear falsely. I hate all this,” declares the Lord.
Cross Reference: Micah 6:8, “He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the Lord require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with your God.”
Ephesians 4:25, “Therefore, each of you must put off falsehood and speak truthfully to his neighbor, for we are all members of one another.”

Today’s passages may seem like an odd choice to focus on; however, nothing happens by accident. The message to the people of Jerusalem while their city lay in ruins gives us renewed hope amid a pandemic.
We must remember that GOD values our heart, the internal commitment over any ritual observance. The Christmas holiday vacillates between heavy rituals and devotion to capitalism in Western culture. But, our LORD wants us to focus on His divine Spirit, not competition or self-righteousness.
During this time of praise, let us all be intentionally aware of our
values and knowledge of God. If we emulate the behavior of Christ Jesus, we are loving, faithful, and fair. And by doing so, we practice compassion.
Prayer: Dear Father, thank you for your Son Jesus. We worship and honor you with our whole being. Please help us walk humbly with you and set aside pride. We want to be examples of your grace, love, and mercy. Thank you for allowing us to love those who challenge us to grow spiritually mature. Amen.
