The closer we get to the top of the mountain, the thinner the air becomes. It is a rigorous climb, and one needs to undergo training if survival is the goal. As I read today’s passages and Psalm 147, I thought about Moses climbing Mount Sinai multiple times and the people not daring to make the journey.

King David laments and cries out to God, and we can learn many lessons from Psalm 147. If you have ever felt trapped or alone, reading verse 7 should give comfort and hope. We can pray for like-minded people to come close to us. Remember, everything is a process, and God listens to His children. In Psalm 147, King David walks us through his steps from fear to blessed assurance.
David is confident that the LORD will:
- deliver him from his enemies and guard him against trouble
- help him avoid traps
- come near to him, so he doesn’t feel alone
- rescue and send godly friends
Most of us aren’t hiding in caves to avoid death( 1 Samuel 24:1-3), but we may experience the prison of our mindsets. If you have trouble focusing on Heavenly things (Colossians 3:2), pray and ask the Holy Spirit to deliver you. Remain confident that the LORD will protect and satisfy your soul’s desires. Be prepared to receive like-minded people who faithfully walk in God’s command.
Prayer: Dear Father, help us keep our minds focused on you. Thank you for delivering us from our enemies and bringing people who will encourage us into our lives. Please increase our confidence in you as we pray for renewal, deliverance, and understanding. Help us to grow in the wisdom of your faithfulness as we endure in this fallen world. Amen.
