🔴 Covenantal Love (Checed)

written by: Torrie Slaughter

Checed (Hebrew- Favour, Goodness, Kindness)

According to a study written by Miles Custis, God’s chesed (checed) is an essential part of His character. In the Ten Commandments, God describes Himself as showing chesed to those who love and obey Him (Exodus 20:6, Deuteronomy 5:10).

In Psalm 136, a corporate praise psalm, the audience affirms God’s steadfast love endures forever. What an incredible way to show gratitude and remember the faithfulness of God! Today I pray you will reflect and recall the many ways our Lord brought you through challenging events. We can all thank God for His creation, protection, provision, and deliverance!

Prayer: Let us, with humble confidence, draw near to your throne, gracious mighty God. Please help us with our weaknesses, for we know that your strength is perfect. Thank you for your everlasting mercy, grace, and love. Amen.
