🔴 Love Is A Character Trait

written by: Torrie Slaughter

Oh, how many times is love mentioned in the Bible? Or, more importantly, how many times does the Word of God tell us to love others? We should not concern ourselves with counting but be intentional about striving to be lovely.

Interestingly, the author of 1 John wanted the readers to remember how much God the Father loves His children. Isn’t that an incredible revelation for us?! I know I am a sinner and wonder why God even bothers with me, but that is the voice of the adversary trying to destroy my relationship with Jesus.

Dear Friends, as you read today’s passages, meditate on the unique ways God shows His love for you. While you do that, think about how often you extend love to your neighbors, co-workers, or strangers. It may be easy to forget how to love when we’re stuck in traffic or running late to a meeting, but I hope that the message you heard from the beginning to love one another will rule in your heart.

Prayer: Abba Father, please help us to love with action and in truth. Let us be at peace with our brothers and sisters, not waging war as the adversary but intentionally loving one another as you have taught. Amen
