🔴 To ‘Do’ List

written by: Torrie Slaughter

God is the Lord of order, and even when He speaks through His people, we can confidently follow His instructions. Yesterday we focused on what to ‘be’ and God’s command to love Him, love ourselves, and love others. We can exemplify love when we are like-minded, compassionate, and pray for others. That is a daily practice of mindful intention, and once we embody that mentality, we can add casting our fears.

Rejection- Stubbornness- Division

We will experience suffering when we do good for the sake of Jesus. Some people will not understand because of their hardened hearts. But God tells us in His Word that we should never tire of doing what is good. So how does our Lord help us navigate painful relationships that drain our energy, question our motives, or take advantage of our kindness? By offering us an escape! A place to cast our fear, worry, concern, and anxiety. We can take everything to the Lord in prayer because He cares and defends us.

On the Prowl

We repeat what we believe, and we teach others to work in a diminished capacity within the body of Christ. (The devil, the enemy, prowls around like a roaring lion, seeking someone to devour. 1 Peter 5:8)

A few ways we hold anxiety, fear, worry, and suspicion:

  1. We haven’t learned to articulate our expectations and create boundaries within relationships. (worry/bitterness)
  2. We have not taken the time to understand our inner self-talk, which manifests itself through our behavior. (suspicion/pride)
  3. We have not learned from our history, which will continue to repeat itself until we make changes. (fear/arrogance)

 Let Go

Dear friends, don’t be content with the way things are. Christ calls to those who love Him, and He wants a relationship with you. Open your heart to experience His love so you can grow in faith. Let the Lord replenish your soul! You are valuable, and the enemy will use the same schemes to distract you from your purpose.

Today I pray you will lighten your mental burden, stop over-thinking, and embrace transformation. We can practice unity with our Abba Father and follow His systematic approach to process our worries.

Prayer: Father, please help us to remain sober-minded and know who we are in Christ. Help us decrease our fears and increase our faith. Amen.
