Guiding Scripture: James  3:15-16 ”For jealousy and selfishness are not God’s kind of wisdom. Such things are earthly, unspiritual, and demonic. 16 For wherever there is jealousy and selfish ambition, there you will find disorder and evil of every kind.’

🔴 Emotional Training (God’s Wisdom)

written by: Torrie Slaughter

As I studied and read this passage, I asked what scripture says about how to combat this. It is easy to understand how incredibly depressing one could be and equally frustrated with the state of the world. We buy into the lie if we allow our emotions to blind us to God’s love.

Heart Condition

God and His wisdom show consideration for others; it is submission, mercy, sincerity, impartiality, and peace. The adversary inspires suspicion and selfish ambition. We as humans can get drawn into a jealous mindset of not thinking we have enough. Greed sets in, as does destructive competitiveness. We can avoid these pitfalls by checking our motives and through constant prayer.

Improve

We will be known by our fruit (Matthew 7:16). Even if it’s a little bruised, has some discoloration, isn’t perfectly shaped, it doesn’t mean that God won’t use us. Surrender to the will of God and ask Him to cleanse your heart and mind. The Holy Spirit can wisely guide us towards peaceful interaction with love, kindness by planting thoughtful seeds of wisdom.

Prayer: Lord, you are our waymaker, miracle worker, promise keeper, light in the darkness. Today work within those who seek humbly after you and desire to do your will. Make a powerful shift in the stubbornness of our minds that we may  see the internal damage of our attitudes. Keep us under your authority and increase our faith in you. In your name, I pray, Amen.
