“How much more do we need to follow the example of Jesus as sinful humans?” That question posed by a Bible teacher sent waves of emotion through the room. It is the tension we experience every time we err and feel the weight of guilt. 

We can follow in the footsteps of Jesus by developing our spiritual appetites, communing with our Lord, and harnessing the power He gives us. Just like Jesus, we need to pray to remain strong. By offering our authentic selves, we are less likely to disguise our struggles. 

Jesus is the High Priest who offered atonement for humanity’s sin once and for all. The fierce loyalty, commitment, and dedication to fulfill all of His purposes is our blessed example. Again, how much more should we practice the ways of Jesus? In His Holy, Divine, Perfection, He exemplified the necessity to seek God’s presence.  

Education

(Proverbs 1:7): The fear of the Lord is the beginning of knowledge; fools despise wisdom and instruction.

Obedience

(Acts 5:29): But Peter and the apostles answered, “We must obey God rather than men.

Prayer

(Romans 8:26): Likewise, the Spirit helps us in our weakness. For we do not know what to pray for as we ought, but the Spirit himself intercedes for us with groanings too deep for words.

As you read today’s passages, think about the ways your character traits. Are you honoring God with your life choices? How is God glorified through your circumstances?

Prayer: Dear Heavenly Father, please help us look to you and seek your presence. We want to honor you with our whole lives. Amen
