🔴 Jesus is Greater Than

written by: Torrie Slaughter

As Christ-followers, we need to keep Jesus our priority. Earthly associations will benefit from our intentionality. Have you ever struggled to balance relationships? I know I have fallen into the trap of being a people-pleaser instead of a godly servant. And it is in those times that I experience the most anxiety and frustration.

If you’ve ever placed the opinion of others over God’s plan for your life, Hebrews 3:4 will help you.

Status

Jesus is our High Priest and atoned for all humanity’s sin. That makes Jesus worthy of more honor than Moses, the angels, and even the Mosaic covenant. When we think about our jobs and the role we fulfill here, let us carefully consider Jesus. His superiority serves as a warning for us not to create human idols.

Remain Faithful

To the audience of the Hebrews letter, they are referred to as “holy brothers,” which is a reminder that they set apart. Jesus calls us to live holy lives. We are sharers in that holy calling while we carry out our earthly jobs. How can we remain faithful? By fixing our thoughts on Jesus and intentionally following His command to love.

Represent

Jesus is the Son over God’s house, and Jesus carried out all His duties. We have a heavenly responsibility to be obedient servants. Jesus is the builder of the house, and God is the builder of everything. Remember, we are all uniquely loved by our Abba Father (Psalm 139:13-14), which means we are all precious in His sight. No one is below or beneath the other. Honor Jesus with your actions and do everything in your power to live peaceably (Romans 12:18).

Prayer: Lord, we praise you with everything in our soul! You are great and mighty! Amen.
