🔴 Spiritual Boldness

written by: Torrie Slaughter

  • Are you encouraged to use your gifts well?
  • Is someone urging you to stay motivated, balanced, and eager to practice your abilities?

Why is it necessary to have a mentor who governs their life by God’s command to love?

Paul’s second letter to Timothy has a sad undertone. He is on trial, and it isn’t going well. However, Paul recognizes his role in Timothy’s life and praises God for bringing them together. Paul’s mission continues to instruct and help young Timothy kingdom build.

Gifted Advisors

You may have a person(s) who came alongside you to be a role model and encourage you to seek God’s kingdom. But, it may seem unusual considering their circumstances. I hope you will respond as Timothy and recognize the spiritual gift and blessing that will transpire. For you, the receiver of godly wisdom, and for the mentor to share the joy of the Lord. One guaranteed way to remain of sound mind is to starve selfish desires. Focusing on how we can help further the message of Jesus’ resurrection brings us into a closer relationship with our Lord.

Show Thyself Approved

As we begin to study and read Paul’s second letter to Timothy, I hope you prioritize God’s plan. Ask yourself if self-pity drives your actions? The world wants us to believe that our circumstances determine our success. But Paul, through God, reminds us that a faithful God determines our victory.

Will you use your situation as a method to glorify our Lord?

Our faith walk won’t be easy. The life we live will have shadows of the cross, and suffering is the result. But, we can choose to grow through the trials and thank God for His great mercy. If not for the bloodshed, we would not have our Mediator and Holy Spirit guide to empower our spiritual boldness today.

Prayer: Lord, please help us number our days to gain a heart of wisdom. We desire to know you more intimately and honor you with our lives. Thank you, Abba Father, for the many encouragers and leaders you place in our lives to guide us into a right relationship with your people. Amen
