As we conclude the letter to the Philippians, I am amazed at the level of admiration these saints have for Paul. Placing myself squarely in the first century extending generosity wasn’t a choice; it meant life or death.

The blessing of faithful Jesus followers coupled with their heart of service allowed the Gospel to reach further. And today we have the same opportunity to keep loving and standing firm in Christ Jesus.

Paul helps us by leaving instructions for daily living. He not only advises us about our spiritual needs but our attitude towards one another.

Philippians 4:2-9 directs people of God to be of one mind in Divine things.

How we act is an expression of Christ. Are our behavior, thoughts, and deeds pleasing to God?
If we commit Philippians 4:8 to memory and internalize Divine thinking, it will remind us to pray always. We need our Lord and Savior to walk with us through every moment. And He sends people to help bear our burdens.

Prayer:

‘We praise you, God, we praise you, for your Name is near; people tell of your wonderful deeds.’ (Psalms 75:1) Please help us to live our lives as witnesses of your great mercy. Amen
