🔴 A Responsible Christ-Follower, Part 2

Today’s assigned passages include the second of Ephesians 4. The Apostle Paul issues warnings against acting like unbelievers (Gentiles). However, he does not leave it there. He instructs believers on how conversion enlightens and purifies their minds. The Apostle Paul shows us how we can be kind, affectionate, and forgive one another because of the indwelling Holy Spirit.
In verses 17-32, Paul invites us to examine our behavior.
Lamentable Conduct: The tragic attitudes and behavior of the Gentiles were the reason for Paul’s warnings. He called believers to turn from perverseness, vanity and fill their minds with Christ. The transformation that occurs when one accepts Jesus is an informed decision to seek the truth. (Ephesians 4:17-19)
Conversion: As we have the right to be called children of God because of Christ Jesus adopting us into the body, we identify with holiness and purity. Every action is a careful consideration of His truth. It is with wisdom through the Holy Spirit that we are aware of deceitful scheming.
Expectation: To no longer walk as ineffectual people with hardened hearts. We can embrace life anew while practicing the love God commanded. Learning and studying Jesus to become better stewards of our time here helps us walk in His lighted path. Our greatest influence becomes the nature of Christ.
Prayer: Father, help us to become useful, helpful, and kind to one another. It is through your grace that we display compassion and understanding. May we readily forgive others as you forgave us. Let our walks be pleasing, and our minds focused on things eternal. Amen
