Guiding Scripture:  Psalm 40:5 ‘Many, Lord, my God, are the wonders you have done, the things you planned for us. None can compare with you; were I to speak and tell of your deeds, they would be too many to declare.’

🔴I Cried For Help

God already knows the end from the beginning. He knows our sufferings, grief, and temptations. When we feel overwhelmed, God is there to heal our minds and bodies. His Word is a gentle salve that gives us comfort from the inside out.

Many Wonders

When our youngest son was born prematurely, I silently blamed myself. Watching our tiny baby boy through the covering of the incubator was incredibly challenging. He fit in the palm of my hand, and his diminutive feet barely grazed my wrist.

Job 5:9 ‘, the One who does great and unsearchable things, wonders without number.’

None Compare to God

God blesses those who seek Him. While I knew the consequences of my actions would eventually surface, I begged for God’s mercy. Each beep of the many monitors connected to our precious new gift encouraged my spirit. I didn’t know it then and couldn’t have fathomed the many angels surrounding my family and me.

Planned Distance

The adversary wanted to keep me in shame and reminded me of everything I did wrong. But God showed me through Him my stripes were healed. Every trip we made to visit our son in the NICU (Neonatal Intensive Care Unit), we stopped on the side of the mountain to take a picture of the sunset. It was a silent prayer and praise moment for bringing my husband, oldest son, and me safely to and from the hospital, which was an hour away from our home.

Psalm 40:8 ‘I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.”

No Doubt

I’ve learned too much about God to doubt Him. In the darkest hours of my existence, God has comforted, corrected, and given me unspeakable joy. My family and I desire to do the Lord’s will and follow His command to love. Not only has He rewarded our submission but, we’ve seen the miracle of our once one-pound 13-ounce son grow into a six-foot 2-inch young adult. One step of obedience counted for many blessings.

As you read today’s passages, think about your trials. How has God blessed you during your storms? What did He teach you about community, love, or even grief? Spend some time praying and praising God as it may answer questions and bring healing to open wounds.

If you started counting the abundant blessings God has given you, would you be able to number them?

Prayer: Lord, ‘I desire to do your will, my God; your law is within my heart.” I do not hide your righteousness in my heart; I speak of your faithfulness and your saving help. I do not conceal your love and your faithfulness from the great assembly.’ Amen (Psalm 40:8,10)
