Guiding Scripture: 2 Kings 8:6, ‘The King asked the woman about it, and she told him. Then he assigned an official to her case and said to him, “Give back everything that belonged to her, including all the income from her land from the day she left the country until now.” ‘ 

🔴Fully Restored

2 Kings chapter 8 continues the story of the Shunammite woman. Elisha warned her of the impending famine, and she was able to save her family. However, when she returned to the land seven years later (her property likely seized by the royal government) was granted a hearing in the presence of the King.  

The King completely restored her property, and she recouped her losses. Moreover, because she obediently followed the Lord’s command through Elisha, she gained more spiritually. 

Restoration is the action of returning something to a former owner, place, or condition. For example, if you lost everything, would you want God to give it back? 

As you read today’s passages, think about the influential people in your circle. Do you keep company with those who will warn you of danger? Like the Shunammite woman, we all have a measure of wealth. Our talents make us valuable, and our time is priceless.

While you’re studying God’s Word, think about your behavior. Do you trust God to speak to you? 

We can choose to seek God’s guidance in every circumstance or foolishly run ahead. Elisha proved to be a man of God, a prophet the Lord spoke through. The Shunammite woman believed in the Most High God and followed Him. Practice watching and observing those around you. God will reveal those who love and obey Him.  

Prayer: Lord, let your Holy Spirit lead me and release me from my enemies. Destroy all the adversaries of my soul, for I am your servant. Guide me on your path; please help me not to stray from Your covenant. Amen
