Bible Study & Devotional Day 174

Guiding Scripture: 2 Kings 4:44, ‘Then he set it before them, and they ate and had some leftover, according to the word of the Lord .’
🔴From Poison to Provision
We can taste and see that the Lord is good. His Word satisfies the soul and nourishes the body if we are willing to partake of it.
In today’s reading, you cannot miss the incredible mercy of God. I love the interconnectedness of His Divine Word. When we pay attention to the events happening in the Old Testament, the increased knowledge blesses our encounter with Jesus as we read the New Testament.
I am always fascinated by the ‘leftovers’ in the text, and each time I meet this idea, I am awestruck. God turns insignificant and perhaps unedible food into physical nourishment.
But wait, there’s more!
When we connect with the spirit and realize what a profound blessing from heaven God gives us, it begins the transformation of our hearts. So many times, love is visible through meeting basic needs. It is impossible to minister or even witness to God’s great strength if we give from a place of spiritual or physical blindness.
Be grateful for what you’ve got! Give and receive with gratitude. Once the Holy Spirit speaks to your heart, you can choose to follow the command to love obediently. Don’t let the poisonous worldly attitudes plant bitterness within you.
Prayer: Lord, thank You for showing kindness to your servant. I am grateful for those you allow me to compensate for their time. Thank You for helping me turn poison into provision as I grow in knowledge. I know we can not out-give You, for you made everything in this world. We exist by Your grace. Amen
