A Daily Purpose

Bible Study & Devotional Day 159

Guiding Scripture: Proverbs 16:28-30AMP ‘A perverse man spreads strife And one who gossips separates intimate friends. A violent and exceedingly covetous man entices his neighbor [to sin], And leads him in a way that is not good. He who [slyly] winks his eyes does so to plot perverse things, And he who compresses his lips [as if in a secret signal] brings evil to pass. ‘

🔴Church, Friends, & Business (Oh My?!)

In 1 Kings chapter 5, we began the detailed description to construct the Temple. King Solomon orchestrated a deal (God’s blessing) with King Hiram of Tyre. In exchange for the wood from Lebanon, King Solomon would provide food to his household.

Fast forward to Psalm 127:1 ‘Unless the Lord builds the house; they labor in vain who build it. Unless the Lord guards the city, The watchman keeps awake in vain.’

When God is in the details and working, we can trust He will be glorified through our efforts. Our God is one of order and His command to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength teaches us to love our neighbors as ourselves.

People will be delighted to work alongside those who humbly serve. They are in the business of winning souls for Christ under every circumstance. As you read today’s passages, think about the transactions and agreements you’ve entered. Will it glorify God?
