🔺 A Sure Foundation

A funny theme in the animated world is walking along and finding oneself slip on a banana peel. That is the stuff of great comedy! Yet, in real life, it is hardly funny when we lose our balance.

There are many in the hospital today whose lives were turned upside down by sickness or disease. For a time, the familiar routines of life get interrupted, and they cannot function at their usual level; for some, they never will again.
Removed are the very things they had been pinning their hopes on (e.g.., health, employment, social involvements), and often, they are left physically, emotionally, and spiritually broken, grasping for answers to the question, “Why?”

The stark reality-

Is that hardship is familiar to us all, and without a sure foundation, it can become too much to bear. In Psalm 46, we learn that even if the things we generally rely on should falter (such as the earth and mountains), we do not need to fear. We can place our trust in God, who is our very present Help in times of trouble.

In fact, just as He is in control of everything that takes place in creation, for the earth melts at the lifting of His voice (Psalm46:6), He also has complete control over what happens in our lives.

The real question is not why, but upon what is our foundation built?

If it is on Christ Jesus, we stand on solid ground because He is our Source and Strength. Our comfort in our pain! The promise in seasons of doubt and our peace in sufferings. If you are looking for a solid footing in life, call out to Jesus today, and He will not let your foot slip.
