Guiding Scripture: Proverbs 15:33, Wisdom’s instruction is to fear the LORD, and humility comes before honor.

🔴 Evil-Kill, Steals, & Destroys

For God’s righteous peace and holiness to sovereignly reign in the hearts of His people- evil must die. It isn’t easy to read the passages of mass murders and what seems to be senseless death, but we have the Words of Jesus Christ our Lord. In John 14:27, Christ tells His disciples, “I am leaving you with a gift-peace of mind and heart. And the peace I give is a gift the world cannot give. So don’t be troubled or afraid.”

As God’s people, we crave instruction and request understanding to apply and put it into practice. God turns our hearts towards His law to love Him with all our heart, mind, soul, and strength, loving our neighbor as ourselves. And the selfish desire for personal gain decreases, turning our eyes away from all the worldly, meaningless things that distract from His Holiness (Psalm 119:37).

Why has God given us this incredible Divine Word?

So that we may know the Good News of Christ’s return and that when it happens, we will believe. We can celebrate our readiness because we have left nothing undone.

Some things will be easier to remove from your life, like- distractions, material things, or excuses. But to follow the command to remove toxic attitudes carried by fixed mindset people is challenging. God, through David, continued the process of weeding out the rebellious people. David did all that God commanded and humbled himself before the Lord of Heaven’s Armies. (‘Who am I, O Sovereign Lord, and what is my family, that you have brought me this far?’ -2 Samuel 7:18b.)

If we ask for wisdom and understanding, be prepared to do something radical. God works to remove idolatry from the hearts of His people. We honor His work within us by remaining sober-minded and honest. Through prayer, ask God to reveal that which he has asked you to remove from your life. The reverent fear of the Lord is the starting point for wisdom; He will restore you with renewed strength in His ways (Psalm 119:37).
