Bible Study & Devotional

Guiding Scripture: Proverbs 15:29 ‘The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous. ‘
🔴Better Than I Deserve
The word deserve is defined as to be worthy of a reward or punishment.
What do you deserve?
On any given day, we feel as though we deserve something for our behavior, and let’s be honest, it is often for all the good stuff, right?
Finding our worth and understanding in God’s context gives us meaning.
The world teaches us to fear not being instantly satisfied. So we fight tooth and nail to get what we get instead of faithfully waiting for God to give from His abundant storehouse.
It’s easy to get caught up in commercialism, but that never satisfies our soul. Our spiritual appetite is hungering for more, but we ask our spirit to feast on a new dress, eat this new car, and taste the latest technology.
Psalm 34:8 Taste and see that the Lord is good, blessed is the man who takes refuge in him.
God will reward our devotion to Him with inner peace, joy, love, kindness, and grace. God will reward our obedience; His response to adversity is hope. The hope we feel as we anticipate His response is like freshwater.
As you read today’s passages full of discord, conspiracy, revenge, and death, be encouraged that God is still in control. He is the same today, yesterday, and forever.
Psalm 119:1-3 ‘Blessed are those whose ways are blameless, who walk according to the law of the Lord . Blessed are those who keep his statutes and seek him with all their heart— they do no wrong but follow his ways. ‘
