Bible Study & Devotional Day 115
Written By Torrie Slaughter
Guiding Scripture: Judges 4:9 ‘“Very well,” she replied, “I will go with you. But you will receive no honor in this venture, for the Lord ’s victory over Sisera will be at the hands of a woman.” So Deborah went with Barak to Kedesh.
🔴 And Women Too
To learn more about Deborah the Judge and Prophetess, I suggest this article: Who was Deborah in the Bible
Interestingly, several women have a significant role in biblical history, yet there is a struggle to hear their stories on Sunday mornings (aside from Mary the mother of Jesus and Eve). That is why reading God’s Word is beneficial for our spiritual development and overall intellectual balance.
The agendas of the world and the presumptions of leadership is an arguable point in some theologian circles. (Seen not heard approach) But what does that do to God’s message? Failure to understand love in its most excellent form, which is humility in service.
So much of what is repeated today is a singular story because pride threatens to steal authority. That wasn’t God’s original intention. It is possible to return to His standard of living. Man and woman, helping one another live peaceably, spreading love. We are all His royal priesthood, part of an immeasurable church body. All believers are set apart as ministers of the new covenant with the world. (1 Peter 2:1-12)
As you read today’s passages, think about your purpose in God’s kingdom. Have you answered the call to proclaim His righteousness and glory?
