Guiding Scripture:Psalm 82:2 How long will you defend the unjust and show partiality to the wicked?

🔴Greed Is Not Rewarded

Our God masterfully communicates through His people. What an incredible lesson of death when we seize greed and become opportunistic rather than patiently waiting on the Lord.

Achan and his family were stoned to death. Why? He committed spiritual adultery (cherem), Achan took that which was set apart for Yahweh. (Joshua 7:1)
Thirty-six men died when the Israelites attacked AI, a defeat that didn’t make sense. The Israelites had not suffered any casualties while fighting against Jericho. Those men had families, and because of Achan’s disobedience, they lost their lives.

As you read today’s passages, think about your greed. Have you taken something that God wanted you to give to Him? Don’t wait until others discover your sins; repent now! (Joshua 7:19-21) Our decisions affect our friends and families. As followers of Christ, we are instructed to build, not destroy.

The things we desire may be given to us when we wait.(Joshua 8:2) God gave the plunder of Ai after the Israelites cleansed the camp of the one who sinned. We are all called to be leaders in some capacity as such, listen to God’s command and meditate on His characteristics.

Romans 6:13 We know that our old sinful selves were crucified with Christ so that sin might lose its power in our lives. We are no longer slaves to sin.
