Guiding Scripture: Proverbs 27:12 (KJV) A prudent man foreseeth the evil, and hideth himself, but the simple pass on, and are punished.
Are you a Prudent Man or Woman?
By contributing writer Temi Michael-O
A prudent man is cautious and observant. These qualities promote spiritual sensitivity. It is challenging to foresee evil and stay away from evil if we do not take the time to seek God and understand the spiritual implications of the things we do.
Today, you can apply this truth by being intentional about protecting your mind.
- To what are you giving your attention?
- What are you watching?
- To what are you listening?
- How do you feel after giving certain things your attention?
- Are you depressed, anxious, or wallowing in self-pity after certain activities?
- Can you see good or evil in what you do?
- Are you about to make a financial, marital, or parenting decision?
- What does the Bible say about your decision?
If you see evil or find your activities harmful to your spiritual and emotional well-being, it is time to protect yourself by taking active steps to protect your soul.
Prayer: Heavenly Father, thank you for helping me recognize evil. In the name of Jesus, give me the grace to guard my heart against evil and make wise choices. Amen.
